Shamone Huggins Faces Murder Charge After Fatal Stabbing

Woman’s charge upgraded to murder after victim’s death

A woman in Columbus, Georgia, is now facing a murder charge after a man succumbed to injuries from a stabbing incident.

Shamone Huggins, 26, was involved in a dispute with 33-year-old Nigel Holmes on December 3, according to police. The altercation, which took place in the 3900 block of Trask Drive, escalated into violence when Holmes was stabbed.

Initially, Huggins was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. However, after Holmes passed away on December 14, the charge against Huggins was upgraded to murder. Authorities also charged her with possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

Huggins remains in the Muscogee County Jail and is scheduled for a hearing in Recorder’s Court on January 2 at 1:30 p.m.
