Shaik Bade Saheb Muthoju Laxmana Chary Arrested in ₹5 Crore Job Scam

Trio defrauded job-seekers with fake government, IT job offers

by Ananya Mehta

The LB Nagar Special Operations Team and the Pocharam IT Corridor Police have arrested three individuals for defrauding job-seekers of over Rs5 crore by promising fake employment in the government and IT sectors. The arrested suspects include Shaik Bade Saheb, a private company employee from Saroornagar; Muthoju Laxmana Chary, a resident of Dilsukhnagar; and M. Ramaswamy, a real estate businessman from Kothapet. Two accomplices Mohd Malik from Bengaluru and Akash from West Bengal are still on the run. The duo is accused of preparing fake ID cards and fraudulent placement orders to carry out the scam.

The arrests came after a complaint was lodged on September 4 by Kasarapu Tirupati, a businessman from Pocharam village. According to the police, the accused Ramaswamy had initially told Tirupati that his son had secured a government job through his help. He promised to assist others in securing similar positions, which led Tirupati to introduce him to his friends, Ramchander and Sammaiah. Tirupati paid Rs12 lakh for his son’s job, while the other two paid Rs16 lakh each for their job offers. However, the accused provided them with fake appointment letters and ID cards. Once the fraud was uncovered, Ramaswamy disappeared, despite assuring the victims that he would return their money.

The police investigation revealed that Saheb had been running a document scanning outlet and collaborated with Ramaswamy and Laxmana Chary to deceive job-seekers. Saheb had been previously arrested in a similar scam involving fake constable job offers. He would lure individuals with fake appointment letters and later assign them tasks such as data updating, promising regular employment in the future. Saheb also created a fake website to make the scam appear more legitimate.

With two of the suspects still at large, the police continue their search for Mohd Malik and Akash.
