The Crime Branch on Wednesday dismantled a well-organized drug trafficking network with the arrest of two main accused, Shahwar Ahmad and his nephew Yaseen Ahmad. The duo had allegedly created a vast mephedrone (MD) distribution system, targeting gym-goers and elite party attendees in the city.
According to police, the accused not only introduced victims to MD drugs but also engaged in a pattern of blackmail and exploitation. Investigators said Shahwar and Yaseen filmed individuals under the influence—women were reportedly sexually exploited, while men were threatened at gunpoint and extorted.
The breakthrough came after a detailed digital forensic examination of mobile devices belonging to the accused. Officers recovered disturbing video evidence, including footage of drug use, sexual coercion, and weapons such as pistols and revolvers used in the intimidation.
Police stated that this was more than a typical narcotics case. “The accused used drugs as a gateway to control, threaten, and exploit their victims. It’s a case involving deep psychological manipulation and criminal intimidation,” an official said.
Authorities are now working to identify victims from the footage and have appealed to the public. Anyone who has experienced blackmail, drug-related coercion, or sexual exploitation in connection with this case is urged to come forward. Police assured that every complaint would be handled sensitively and investigated thoroughly.
