The Mehatpur police have arrested a resident of Shahkot, Vija, for allegedly causing the death of a youth by administering a drug overdose. The victim, Jagtar Singh, was reportedly given the fatal dose by Vija in Mehatpur, which led to his death on Sunday.
Mukhtiar Singh, also known as Kalu, the brother of the deceased, lodged a complaint with the police, accusing Vija of deliberately giving the overdose. The authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident and booked the accused under relevant charges.
