Shahkot Police Arrest Three in Farmers’ Transformer Theft Gang

Three accused caught stealing transformers from fields in Shahkot

Shahkot police arrested three members of a gang involved in stealing transformers from farmers’ fields. The accused, Kamal Preet, Raman Kumar, and Simran Preet, all residents of Mureed Wal village under Lohian Khas police jurisdiction, were caught after a complaint by Mandeep Singh of Nimajipur village.

According to Investigating Officer and Malsian police post in-charge Nirmal Singh, the accused stole a transformer and motor wire from Mandeep Singh’s agricultural fields under the direction of one Avtar Singh Thekdar. The police have registered a case under Sections 303(2) and 62 against the accused.

The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by Shahkot police to curb thefts affecting the local farming community.
