Three individuals were arrested in the Vijaypur area after police intercepted their vehicle and recovered a narcotic substance during a routine check, a police spokesperson said.
The accused have been identified as Shahid Shafiq of Kupwara, along with Younis Rafiq and Kamran Farooq, both residents of Srinagar. The trio was travelling in a car when it was stopped and subjected to checking, leading to the recovery of the suspected narcotics.
Police immediately took the three into custody and registered a case under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended distribution of the contraband.
