SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Seven individuals from Sacramento have been charged with drug trafficking and firearms offenses in a significant bust announced by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on February 7, 2025.
The accused include Kevin Antonio Parker, 38; John Kevin Parker, 45; Veronica Brooks, 42; Xavier Surita, 36; Raymundo Escobar, 27; Marcelino Escobar, 23; and Devon Nelson, 33. A second indictment also charges Maurice Collins, 34, with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The DEA’s investigation, which began in November 2023, targeted high-ranking members of the Oak Park Bloods gang. Authorities allege that Kevin Parker and his associates were involved in trafficking fentanyl powder, fentanyl pills, over 15 pounds of methamphetamine, and 12 firearms, including machine guns and firearms with conversion devices.
Kevin Parker faces multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin. He is also charged with being a felon in possession of firearms, unlawful firearms dealing, and possession of a machine gun.
Other defendants, including John Parker, Brooks, Raymundo Escobar, Marcelino Escobar, and Nelson, have been charged with drug conspiracy and distribution offenses. Raymundo Escobar also faces a separate charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
If convicted, the defendants in the first indictment could face a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, up to life imprisonment, and a fine of up to $10 million. Collins, who is charged separately, faces up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
