LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) — Seven people have been arrested in connection with a March assault and robbery after a man reported being attacked and held against his will, authorities said.

The Laredo Police Department responded to a report on March 29 in the 1600 block of Madison Street, where the victim had visible injuries consistent with an assault.

The victim told officers that he had tried to end a relationship with a woman the day before the incident. A group of individuals allegedly assaulted the man at a home in the 2300 block of E. Saunders Street, forcing him to hand over $600 and not return to his family. He was eventually released.

After an investigation, police identified the suspects as:

Elizabeth Flores

Diego Alexander Garcia

Luis Angel Hernandez

Felix Ortega

Frank Ortega

Martin Alejandro Perez

All six were arrested earlier. On November 5, a seventh suspect, Lesly Judith Rodriguez, was also taken into custody.

Authorities did not release additional details about court dates or bond.
