Srikalahasti police have arrested a 29-year-old repeat offender, M Suneel, for his involvement in multiple thefts across Andhra Pradesh. Authorities recovered stolen property including 248 grams of gold ornaments and three motorbikes, with a total estimated value of Rs27 lakh.
Tirupati Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju, during a press briefing at the Police Parade Grounds in Tirupati on Tuesday, confirmed that Suneel—a resident of Nellore—was linked to over 28 house break-in and theft cases across districts such as Kadapa, Badvel, Nellore, Renigunta, and Srikalahasti.
Despite previously serving jail time, Suneel continued his criminal activities. A recent surge in house break-ins reported at nine homes in Srikalahasti, Thottambedu, and Gudur prompted police to closely monitor him. He was apprehended from his residence in Nellore.
The police emphasized that citizens should utilize the Locked House Monitoring System (LHMS) while traveling, which helps prevent burglaries by enabling police surveillance of unattended homes.
