SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a vehicle theft that occurred nearly three years ago in South Windsor.

Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Sergio Lira of Hartford. The theft happened in November 2022 at the Lowe’s parking lot on Buckland Hills Drive.

DNA evidence linked Lira to the stolen vehicle, officials said.

Lira was apprehended by the East Hartford Police Department and transferred to South Windsor police custody. He was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.

Lira is being held on a $75,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday in Manchester.
