PALM SPRINGS, Fla. (CBS12) — A quiet Palm Springs apartment turned into a major crime scene after police uncovered a significant stash of cocaine, cash, and firearms during a raid early Wednesday morning.
At around 6 a.m., officers with the Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) executed a search warrant at a home on the 4500 block of Emerald Vista.
Although the primary suspect, 33-year-old Sergio Guzman, wasn’t home when officers arrived, authorities later spotted him driving through the complex. Once he exited his vehicle, officers took him into custody without incident.
Inside the apartment, investigators uncovered:
626 grams of cocaine
$15,000 in cash stored in a duffel bag
Pipes and digital scales
20 alprazolam pills (a controlled substance)
Two handguns
Guzman was booked on multiple felony charges, including:
Trafficking cocaine
Weapons offenses
Possession of a controlled substance
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
