In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Sahadevkhunta Police arrested Seikh Kurban during a raid in the Arad Bazaar area, seizing 170 grams of brown sugar and Rs 30,600 in cash.
The operation, carried out by a special team based on a tip-off, is part of the district’s ongoing drive to eliminate the drug menace. Superintendent of Police Raj Prasad confirmed the arrest and the recovery of narcotics and cash.
Seikh Kurban is a repeat offender with a long history of drug-related crimes. He was previously arrested by Sahadevkhunta Police in 2012 and by the Special Task Force (STF) in 2020. Despite being released from jail in December 2022, Kurban resumed his illicit activities.
A case has been registered under Case No. 134/25, and the accused has been produced in court.
Police have reiterated their commitment to intensifying raids and surveillance to clamp down on habitual offenders and disrupt drug supply networks in the region.
