Two women, including a 54-year-old and her sister-in-law, were arrested last week for allegedly operating a heroin syndicate in North East Delhi. Police seized 1.049 kilograms of high-grade heroin, valued at over Rs5 crore in the international market.
The accused, identified as Seema (54) of Nand Nagri and Samita (43) of Shahdara, were apprehended by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) near the GTB Hospital area last Friday. Acting on a tip-off, ANTF conducted a swift raid as the duo was delivering a narcotic consignment on a blue Scooty Activa.
In addition to the heroin, police also recovered:
The two-wheeler used in the delivery
Rs22,900 in cash
Two mobile phones allegedly used in the operation
Authorities believe the pair were part of a broader heroin distribution network in the capital. Investigations are ongoing to identify more individuals involved in the supply chain.
