Secunderabad Police have arrested 21-year-old Shaik Waheed, a habitual drug offender and bike mechanic from Lalapet, at Secunderabad Railway Station on Monday for carrying 4.1 kilograms of marijuana valued at over Rs 2 lakh.

Waheed was intercepted by teams from the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) near Gate No. 2 on Platform No. 1 during intensified security checks.

According to police, Waheed resumed drug trafficking after his recent release from prison. He reportedly sourced marijuana from Maharashtra at lower rates and distributed it in Hyderabad. During the search, two packets of dry ganja were recovered from his backpack. Waheed admitted to purchasing the drugs for personal use and resale in smaller quantities.

Police are continuing investigations to trace Waheed’s suppliers and uncover the broader interstate smuggling network. This incident adds to a pattern of repeated drug peddling offences, with prior cases registered under the Lalaguda and Tukaramgate Police Stations.
