Sector-19 police have arrested two men, Litu alias Soubhagya Nayak (23) and Vicky Yadav (25), in connection with a burglary that occurred two months ago.
The suspects reportedly carried out multiple burglaries across several police jurisdictions in the area, including Sector-3, Sector-15, and Sector-7.
In a joint press conference on Tuesday, Jogeswar Panda, DSP (Zone-1), and Ranjan Kumar Nayak, inspector in-charge of Sector-19 police station, stated that the duo had stolen gold and silver jewellery, electronic devices, and a tablet from a house in Sector-19 on April 22.
During interrogation, both Nayak and Yadav confessed to involvement in other theft cases across the neighboring sectors. “Their participation in additional cases is currently under investigation,” DSP Panda added.
Police have successfully recovered some of the stolen property, including a 16.45gm gold necklace, two pairs of gold earrings weighing 6.90gm, a 3.87gm gold chain, and the stolen tablet.
