On June 18, detectives from the Picayune Police Department Special Operations Division conducted a traffic stop near Hunt Street and Jarrell Street that resulted in a major drug arrest.
The stop involved an unauthorized off-road motorcycle being operated in violation of several traffic laws. Before initiating the stop, detectives observed what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction involving the driver.
Upon contact, the driver was identified as Sebra Stewart. During a search, Stewart was instructed to place his hands on his head, at which point detectives noticed a suspicious round object tucked in his waistband.
A closer search uncovered a clear plastic bag concealed in Stewart’s boxer briefs containing 14 individually packaged bags of cocaine.
Stewart was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
