by Ananya Mehta

The Special Crime Unit (SCU) has successfully dismantled a large-scale racket exploiting the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) to secure fraudulent admissions into prestigious medical colleges. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the operation that spanned across Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

The arrested persons have been identified as:

Priyadarshi Kumar (Jharkhand)

Arvind Kumar (Bihar)

Sunil Samantray (Odisha)

Rudra Narayan Behera (Odisha)

Reports indicate that local scouts identified candidates willing to pay between Rs20 to Rs30 lakh for admission through fraudulent means. The syndicate manipulated the NEET process by using fake sponsorship certificates and altered Aadhaar details to facilitate proxy candidates sitting for the examination. It is also alleged that the suspects fixed examination centres to further their deceptive practices.

The SCU continues its investigation into the broader network involved in this crime, aiming to bring justice for the affected aspirants and uphold the integrity of medical entrance examinations.
