Scranton Man Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Two Structures

Anderson Cortez, 33, charged with burglary and criminal trespass following break-ins on Beech and Koch Streets

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A 33-year-old man is behind bars after being accused of breaking into two structures in Scranton over the past month.

According to a Scranton Police Department release, Anderson Cortez was arrested on burglary, criminal trespass, and other related charges. The police say that Cortez allegedly broke into a home on the 300 block of Beech Street on April 27 and an unoccupied structure on the 400 block of Koch Street on May 2.

Cortez was apprehended by Scranton Police after a foot pursuit in the area.

The 33-year-old is scheduled for a preliminary hearing later this month.
