A Glasgow man has been jailed for eight years after police discovered millions of pounds worth of cocaine in his car in Cumbria.
Scott Tobin, 33, was stopped near Penrith in November, where officers found thirty blocks of cocaine hidden in the boot of his vehicle. The drugs were valued at approximately £2.4 million.
Tobin was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on 17 December after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.
A spokesperson from Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) Unit said: “The actions of officers who stopped Tobin’s vehicle ensured millions of pounds worth of drugs never reached the streets. This seizure and sentencing demonstrate our commitment to tackling drug-related crime. Intercepting over £2 million worth of drugs reduces potential harm to individuals, families, and the wider community.”
