EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) — Authorities in Colorado have arrested a man after finding more than 100 pounds of cocaine in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop earlier this week.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies pulled over a vehicle near mile marker 140 on Interstate 70 around 10 a.m. Tuesday for a lane violation. Suspicious statements made by the driver led officers to suspect criminal activity, prompting them to deploy a K-9 unit.
The K-9 indicated the possible presence of drugs, and a subsequent search revealed 44 individually wrapped packages of cocaine, totaling 111 pounds.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Scott Robinson of Ontario, Canada, now faces multiple charges, including unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and conspiracy.
Robinson is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
