SAVANNAH, Ga. – Authorities have arrested Anthony Mitchell, 29, in connection with the theft of a 2022 Dodge RAM 1500 on Thursday. Mitchell is charged with theft-by-receiving stolen property, according to the Savannah Police Department (SPD).

The incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. Thursday when the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) alerted Chatham Dispatch about a stolen truck that was triggering Flock camera alerts throughout the area. Once the vehicle was entered into the system, the alert activated, allowing officers to track the truck’s movements.

SPD’s Community Response Team and Patrol agencies successfully located the stolen truck traveling west on East Victory Drive toward Skidaway Road. With the vehicle stuck in heavy traffic, police conducted a traffic stop on the truck.

The investigation into the theft is still ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or submit an anonymous tip via the SPD mobile app.
