Adilabad police have arrested two individuals from Tikamgarh district in Madhya Pradesh for their alleged roles in a widespread cybercrime racket. The arrests mark a key breakthrough in an ongoing investigation into a fraudulent work-from-home scheme that scammed hundreds of people across India.
The suspects have been identified as Saurabh Raikwar (24) and Ritik Sen (19). According to police, Saurabh had set up a front in the form of a digital marketing business. Both men allegedly worked as commission agents for a broader cybercrime network, tricking victims through misleading online job offers and communication.
Authorities believe the duo was part of a larger syndicate operating across state borders, leveraging digital tools and fake employment promises to exploit unsuspecting individuals. The scam involved persuading people to pay “registration” or “task completion” fees under the pretense of remote job opportunities.
The investigation is ongoing, with police expecting further arrests as they uncover more links in the cybercrime chain. Officials urge the public to remain cautious of too-good-to-be-true online job offers and to verify the authenticity of such opportunities before engaging.
