Police recovered narcotics and illicit liquor from different locations and arrested two persons during separate enforcement actions, officials said.
During routine patrolling, Bullowal police apprehended Saurabh alias Ghugga, a resident of Bullowal, and recovered a large quantity of banned tablets from his possession. The recovery was made after the accused was stopped on suspicion and searched, following which narcotics were seized.
In a separate operation, Mukerian police arrested Narsimha, a resident of Jhuggian near Shah Nehar, and seized 22,500 ml of illicit liquor from him. Police said the accused was illegally transporting the liquor when he was intercepted.
Cases have been registered in both incidents under relevant provisions of law, and further investigation is underway to determine the source and supply chain of the seized contraband.
