by Ananya Mehta

The Indore police recently arrested Saurabh Gaur (24), a prime suspect in a murder case, after he was caught threatening a witness to change their statement. The police had announced a unique token reward of 50 paise for his arrest, based on his “status” as a criminal.

Gaur had fled after intimidating the witness in Malharganj area, but following a tip-off, the police tracked him to the Dream City Extension Colony in Gandhi Nagar. When approached, Gaur attempted to escape by jumping from a balcony, sustaining injuries. He is accused of multiple crimes, including murder, and faces 11 criminal cases across various police stations.

This arrest is part of a unique campaign by the Indore police to use token rewards to capture absconding criminals, sending a message that no criminal, no matter how notorious, is beyond the law.

While Saurabh Gaur is now in police custody, authorities continue to search for other members of the gang, such as those involved in the Tandava Gang and the Mastano Ki Toli.
