In a disturbing incident, 47-year-old Satyawan Harishchandra Gaonkar has been arrested by Goa Police on charges of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl inside his vehicle.
According to police sources, the accused allegedly lured the child with the promise of food, then stopped his car during the return journey and committed the abuse. The incident reportedly took place on a Saturday night and came to light when the girl’s father filed a complaint.
Authorities acted swiftly, detaining Gaonkar at his residence in Velguem shortly after the report was lodged.
The minor was medically examined at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, confirming the basis for legal action.

Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act
Goa Children’s Act
