Authorities have apprehended a 40-year-old woman accused of defrauding a resident of Delhi of Rs20,000 by promising an easy loan through social media.

The accused, identified as Satvinder Kaur from Tilak Nagar, was arrested following a technical investigation into the fraud case reported on March 13.

Police said Kaur allegedly leveraged her previous employment with a loan recovery agency to access contact details of potential victims. She used this information to pitch fraudulent loan offers and collect advance fees from unsuspecting individuals.

Authorities are investigating whether Kaur was involved in additional similar cases and have urged the public to verify loan offers received via social media before making any payments.
