SAS Nagar Cyber Police Bust Online Fraud Gang

80-Year-Old Woman Rescued from Rs 2 Crore Scam

SAS Nagar cyber crime police successfully cracked two high-profile cases. In the first, three members of a gang involved in online fraud through a gaming app were arrested. The accused were identified as Akshay Kumar from Haryana, Sitesh from Gujarat, and Chetan from Patan district, Gujarat.

The cyber police station at Phase 7 received confidential information that individuals were deceiving people using a gaming app. A police team raided their premises, arresting the three suspects and recovering 20 mobile phones, three laptops, 41 bank ATM cards, and nine cheque books. Investigation revealed that the gang had defrauded multiple victims of around Rs 3 crore. The accused were produced in court, and police obtained their remand.

In a separate case, an 80-year-old woman faced threats via video calls for three days, forcing her to transfer Rs 2 crore. Police intervened in time, preventing the fraud and registering a case. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
