NEW DELHI: In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Delhi Police have busted an interstate drug trafficking network operating across Delhi-NCR, leading to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of 808 grams of heroin, valued at over Rs4 crore in the international market.
The arrests were made during a sting operation conducted in the Trans-Yamuna area, police said on Wednesday. In addition to the heroin, authorities also confiscated:
Two mobile phones
A scooter
An undisclosed amount of cash
Arrested Individuals:
Saroj, also known as Babu
Rajkumar
Deepali
Police said the suspects were allegedly involved in the local distribution of heroin, selling it in small packets to individual customers in and around the region.
The operation began with the arrest of Saroj on July 18, which led investigators to uncover the larger network. Ongoing investigation efforts aim to identify additional members and dismantle the entire supply chain operating across state lines.
Authorities have invoked relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further arrests are expected as the probe deepens.
