Sarika Mangru Arrested for $30K Grand Larceny in Queens

Home care aide charged with identity theft, misuse of victim’s credit card

QUEENS, N.Y. — Sarika Mangru, 48, of Jamaica, was arrested on September 16, 2025, following a thorough investigation into a grand larceny and identity theft case reported by the Fourth Squad.

Mangru, who worked as a home care aide, is accused of stealing from a 90-year-old female client residing in North Woodmere between June 2024 and January 2025. During this period, she allegedly used the victim’s credit card to make unauthorized transactions totaling approximately $30,000.

The defendant was arrested without incident and faces multiple charges including Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, Identity Theft in the 1st Degree, and Unlawful Possession of a Personal ID in the 3rd Degree.

Mangru is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the First District Court located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
