Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian TV presenter and social media influencer Sarah Khalifa has been arrested on drug trafficking charges, according to local sources.
Khalifa, known for her work on television and her robust Instagram following of over three million, was reportedly detained in a luxury apartment in Cairo. Authorities allege the residence served as a base of operations for large-scale drug deliveries.
Investigators say Khalifa was not only involved in smuggling illegal drugs, but had also built a steady clientele, using her public persona as a cover. Her engagement to a well-known footballer from the Zamalek club has drawn even more attention to the case.
In addition to her media work, Khalifa runs a beauty clinic offering services like Botox, fillers, and plastic surgery. While active on Instagram, her YouTube channel, which has around 7,000 subscribers, has been inactive for over a year. She also maintains a presence on Snapchat.
Egyptian authorities are continuing their investigation, working to identify Khalifa’s alleged clients and accomplices in the illegal operation.
