Sarah Hannah Latapie, a 25-year-old woman from Braithwaite, Louisiana, was arrested on Monday, September 8, in connection with a disturbing child exploitation case, according to Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office.
Latapie faces 22 counts of possessing child sexual abuse material involving children under the age of 13 and one count of sexually abusing an animal.
Her arrest came after a joint investigation conducted by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Crimes Unit and the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. Authorities acted on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
While the full details of the allegations have not been made public, officials confirmed that Latapie was booked into the St. Bernard Parish Jail at 9:20 a.m. on Sept. 8.
Information regarding her bond was not immediately available at the time of booking.
The investigation remains ongoing.
