
Multiple Arrests Made in Ottawa, Illinois on Felony and Theft Charges
Ottawa police responded to a call at OSF St. Elizabeth on Wednesday and arrested Sarah Akins, 40, of Marseilles. Akins is charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, a Class 2 felony, and disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor.
On Thursday, officers arrested Melves Kidd, 27, of Blue Island, who had an outstanding Cook County warrant for possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card.
Also on Thursday, Shawn Kennedy, 47, a homeless man from Ottawa, was taken into custody at the local Walmart. He faces charges of retail theft, violating conditions of pretrial release, and a warrant from Bureau County for failing to appear in court. He is currently being held at the La Salle County Jail.
Christina Rousonelos, 39, also homeless from Ottawa, was cited for theft of less than $500, a Class 4 felony, and was released with a court date.
Lastly, Kendall Denham, 29, of Ottawa, was detained at Handy Foods and cited for retail theft, classified as a Class A misdemeanor.
