Santosh Sharma Arrested in Nashik Extortion Case

Four accused extort Rs 1.5L from industrialist

he Ambad police in Nashik have registered a case of extortion against four individuals for allegedly forcing an industrialist to pay Rs 1.5 lakh under threat of legal action. The main accused, Santosh Sharma, is already in custody in connection with prior extortion cases registered with Satpur and Ambad police stations.

According to the complainant, Sharma and his three associates conspired with certain government officials to file a complaint against him at Satpur MIDC, citing illegal construction within his company premises. The suspects allegedly demanded a monthly payment to allow the industrialist to continue operations and threatened to harm him if he failed to comply.

The industrialist further stated that the accused displayed threatening posters on the walls of his factory and recently intercepted his car on the road, demanding Rs 6 lakh while forcibly taking Rs 1.5 lakh from him.

Police have booked all four accused, including Sharma, and are investigating the case to uncover any additional accomplices.
