Santosh Chaudhary Arrested for Rs 36.4 Lakh Jewellery Theft

Andheri man with 30 prior cases caught for Malad break-in

A 23-year-old man from Andheri, identified as Santosh Chaudhary, alias Vaitu, has been arrested for stealing gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 36.4 lakh from the home of an import-export entrepreneur in Malad (West).

The arrest was made on Thursday, and according to the police, all the stolen items have been recovered from the accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Anand Bhoite stated that Chaudhary is a habitual offender, with 30 previous break-in cases registered against him at various police stations across Mumbai.

Chaudhary reportedly targeted locked homes and had a pattern of operating solo. The Malad incident triggered a high-priority investigation due to the high value of the stolen items, leading to a swift arrest.
