Two young men, working as food delivery agents for Zomato and Swiggy, have been arrested by Muhana police for stealing crates of Saras Gold milk from various dairy booths and departmental stores across the city. The accused, identified as Sanjay Puri Goswami and Manish Nagariya, confessed to over a dozen thefts carried out during the early hours of the morning.
According to DCP South Digant Anand, a theft report was filed on May 10 by Dinesh Chand Sharma, the owner of Badiwal Traders near Muhana Mandi. He reported the theft of 12 crates of Saras Dairy milk at 4 AM. Similar reports followed from other stores and dairy booths.
A police team was formed, which examined over 200 CCTV cameras and checked 100 vehicles, ultimately tracing the culprits using surveillance footage. The duo was apprehended after extensive investigation.
During questioning, the accused revealed that they conducted thefts between 4 AM to 5 AM, targeting dairy booths where the Saras Dairy milk truck had dropped crates before store owners arrived. They sold the stolen milk and used the proceeds to rent luxury cars and fund extravagant lifestyles.
Police have recovered 15 crates of Saras Gold milk and continue to investigate possible links to additional thefts.
