Sangeeta Sahu, also known as Geeta Sahu, a prominent ganja supplier from Odisha, was arrested by the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise Department. The STF team traveled to Odisha to apprehend her with the assistance of local police and subsequently brought her to Telangana for questioning.
Sahu, hailing from Khallikote village, has been involved in the wholesale distribution of ganja for the past four years. Operating near Bhubaneswar, she established connections with major ganja traders across several states, supplying large quantities of the illegal substance based on demand.
Sangeeta Sahu is implicated in multiple cases, including four registered in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad, a known hotspot for illegal drug activities. She is accused of supplying 29 kilograms and 11.3 kilograms of ganja to individuals involved in two major drug cases. Statements from other accused individuals have led Dhoolpet Excise officials to file cases against her.
The arrest marks a significant step in curbing the illegal ganja trade in the region, and authorities are now investigating further links in the trafficking network.
