In a major anti-drug operation, police in Shimla arrested two individuals and seized 562 LSD stamps valued at approximately Rs1.1 crore in the black market, officials said.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Sharma, 40, a resident of Moga district in Punjab, and Priya Sharma, 26, from Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the New Shimla Police Station carried out a raid at a residential building in the BCS locality, Shimla, where the two suspects were apprehended and the contraband was recovered.

During preliminary investigation, police found that Sandeep Sharma had previously been involved in illegal drug activities and had an earlier case registered against him for drug possession.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and authorities are continuing the investigation to uncover the larger network linked to the trafficking of the banned substance.
