The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Uttar Pradesh has arrested Sandeep Kumar Nayak, a Lucknow-based builder, from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, for allegedly masterminding a multi-crore land fraud in Jajpura district.
According to sources, Nayak promised lucrative land deals to several individuals, collecting large sums of money under false pretenses. The arrest was made following Case No. 8/18 registered at Banda Police Station, Lucknow. The EOW coordinated with the Infocity Police in Bhubaneswar to detain Nayak at his sister’s residence near Patia Station.
Initial investigations reveal that Nayak exploited regional loopholes to conduct fraudulent land transactions. This arrest highlights the growing cooperation between states in tackling interstate crimes and curbing real estate fraud.
