Vittal Police on Monday apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in a marijuana distribution network operating in Alike village, located within Bantwal taluk.
The accused have been identified as:
Sanath Kumar (23), from Mangalapadavu, Vittal
Razik (23), from Vittal Kasaba village
Chetan (23), also from Mangalapadavu
Dhyan Kerkera (23), from Ermemajalu
According to police reports, the arrests took place near Erumbu Road when PSI Ramakrishna and his team encountered the suspects acting suspiciously by the roadside. Upon questioning and search, officers discovered 6.27 grams of marijuana, three mobile phones, a small knife, and a two-wheeler, all allegedly linked to the accused.
All four individuals are facing charges related to possession and attempted sale of a banned narcotic substance. A formal case has been registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
Authorities confirmed that Dhyan Kerkera was detained shortly after the initial arrests. His role in the drug operation is currently under investigation as police work to determine the extent of his involvement.
The Vittal Police have stated that the operation is part of their ongoing crackdown on local drug trafficking, and further investigations are underway to uncover any additional suspects or wider networks connected to this case.
