SAN DIEGO — A housekeeper at Pacifica Bonita Villas Retirement Facility has been arrested for allegedly stealing $50,000 in valuables from elderly residents, authorities reported.
Tania Soliven, 51, was taken into custody after a search of her home on Oct. 2 uncovered stolen items, firearms, ammunition, meth, and drug paraphernalia. The investigation revealed multiple grand thefts and burglaries targeting residents on the third floor of the retirement facility on Bonita Road.
Detectives from the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation, the COPPS team, and the Special Enforcement Detail served a search warrant at Soliven’s apartment in Bonita. Authorities recovered a gun safe containing five handguns, one rifle, and ammunition, with one handgun and the rifle unregistered. Hundreds of pieces of suspected stolen jewelry, collectible coins, computers, and cellphones were also seized.
Soliven is booked at the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility and faces charges related to narcotics possession and possession of ammunition.
The sheriff’s office has advised residents and families of Pacifica Bonita Villas who suspect they may have been victims to contact the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Substation at 619-498-2400.
