MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — A 20-year-old man from the Spies area of Moore County has been arrested on multiple charges related to child sexual exploitation, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Samuel Grant was taken into custody on Thursday following an investigation launched after a cyber tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip was handled by forensic specialists from the Sheriff’s Office.
As a result of the investigation, Grant is facing the following charges:
Two counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor
Two counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor
Grant was booked into the Moore County Detention Center with a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on September 18.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is part of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force, a coalition dedicated to investigating and preventing online child exploitation.
As with all criminal cases, Grant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
