Sampya Police Arrest Harish Naika for Stealing Airtel Tower Battery

In a swift operation, Sampya police, under the leadership of CPI Ravi B S, arrested Harish Naika (30) from Vagga, Kavalamudoor village, Bantwal taluk, for stealing a battery from an Airtel mobile tower. The theft occurred on November 19, at the mobile tower located at Mapalekochi, near Bulerikatte-Saaja Road in Balnadu village. A complaint was immediately lodged at the Sampya police station following the incident.

During questioning, it was revealed that Naika had stolen another battery from the Konaje police station limits. The authorities seized 24 battery cells, valued at Rs 48,000, along with a car worth Rs 2.5 lakh, which Naika had used during the crime. Two mobile phones were also recovered from his possession.

The operation was executed by Sampya police station’s inspector, Jambooraj B Mahajan, along with investigation department SI Sushma G Bhandary, ASI Murugesh B, head constables Praveen, Harish, and Sharif, and constables Chandrashekhara, Sharanappa, Nagesh, Divakar, and Sampath. Their coordinated efforts led to the successful arrest of the accused.
