Sambalpur Police have exposed a scam involving three fraudsters attempting to replicate the plot of Akshay Kumar’s blockbuster film “Special 26.” The culprits created a fake organization, the ‘Raid Action Wing’ (RAW), to recruit youths by promising them government jobs.

The two arrested suspects have been identified as Satyaranjan Sahu (43) from Remuna, Balasore, and Shivnayan Seth (23), a resident of VSS Colony in Hirakud, Sambalpur. The mastermind behind the operation, Sukanta Kumar Ratha from Gajapati district, remains at large and is currently being pursued by the authorities.

Sambalpur SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo stated that the fraudsters posed as officers of the fictional ‘Raid Action Wing’ to attract educated youths seeking employment. They offered the victims fake opportunities within the Central government by asking them to work as probationers in the phony organization, with the promise of permanent positions after paying certain fees.

The accused went a step further by issuing forged ID cards, authorization letters, and fake documents with the Government of India and RAW logos, along with the ‘International Organisation Against Crime and Corruption’ stamp. As part of the scam, the youths were instructed to raid excise shops and narcotic hideouts, confiscating goods and handing them over to the fraudsters. Six victims were reportedly duped in this elaborate scheme, according to Bhamoo.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are taking measures to ensure the fraudsters are brought to justice.
