An Aiken County woman has been arrested in connection with an alleged lottery fraud scheme in North Augusta, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Authorities identified the suspect as Samantha Nicole Jones, 34. She faces three counts of intent to defraud involving counterfeit game tickets. Jones was taken into custody on March 22 and booked into the Aiken County Detention Center.
Investigators allege that Jones unlawfully claimed lottery prizes using stolen tickets in North Augusta during July and August 2025.
The investigation was initiated at the request of the South Carolina Education Lottery, which flagged the suspicious activity.
Prosecutors from the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office are handling the case.
The charges remain allegations, and Jones is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
