The Sakinaka Police have successfully dismantled a major Mephedrone (MD) production facility in Uttar Pradesh, seizing MD worth Rs 10 crore. The operation began with the arrest of Israel Sheikh from Kajupada Pipeline, Sakinaka, on December 31, 2024, when he was caught attempting to sell MD. Investigations led the police to a larger network of criminals, uncovering a facility in Lucknow run by Akhilesh Pratap Singh.

On February 8, two individuals managing the Lucknow operation were arrested. Additionally, three other suspects were previously detained from Taloja and Nalasopara. Further inquiries revealed a broader drug trafficking network, involving suspects from various regions across Uttar Pradesh, including Basti, Azamgarh, and Mirzapur.

A raid at the Lucknow facility led to the recovery of 5.58 kg of liquid MD, 500 grams of non-liquid MD, and manufacturing equipment, all worth Rs 10 crore. The two arrested individuals appeared before the Bandra holiday court and were remanded into police custody.
