Sajad Ahmad Ganie Arrested in Major Bat Clefts Theft Case

Nearly 2,000 stolen bat clefts recovered in Pulwama investigation

On August 31, during the investigation of a theft case registered under FIR No. 180/2025 at Police Station Awantipora, authorities recovered 200 stolen bat clefts and arrested an additional suspect.

According to a police statement, further investigation by the Police Post Toll Plaza, using modern techniques such as CCTV footage analysis from various locations, led to identifying and arresting Sajad Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh Hassan Ganie, resident of Pathan, Pulwama.

Following his disclosure, police recovered 1,780 more stolen bat clefts from different locations, raising the total recovered to 1,980. The vehicle involved in the crime, bearing registration number JK18D-5938, was also seized.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting life and property, urging citizens to stay vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to help curb anti-social elements effectively.
