Kasaragod police have arrested nine individuals, including Sainudeen V K, an assistant education officer, and an RPF officer, for sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy over two years. The victim reportedly met the accused through an LGBTQ dating app.
The arrested accused are: Sainudeen V K (52), Chitraj Eravil (48), Abdul Rahman Haji (55), Sukesh (30), Afzal (23), Shijith (36), Rayees (30), Ramzan (64), and Narayanan (60). The general education department has suspended Sainudeen V K following the arrests.
Police are searching for additional suspects, including Siraj Vadakkumpad (46), Youth League Thrikaripur panchayat committee general secretary. A total of 16 cases have been registered across Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Ernakulam districts.
The Kasaragod SP, V V Vijaya Reddy, emphasized the seriousness of the crime, highlighting the abuse of trust and authority by some of the accused.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to ensure the remaining perpetrators are apprehended and justice is delivered to the minor victim.
