In a significant anti-drug operation, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (East Zone), along with Bowenpally Police, apprehended two repeat offenders and seized 1,770 grams of hash oil, estimated to be worth Rs8.95 lakh in the illegal market.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sahoo Sonu (31), a fruit vendor from Old Bowenpally, and Bandari Ravi Teja (20), a delivery boy from LB Nagar. Both are known to police and have previous cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to Additional DCP Task Force Ande Srinivasa Rao, the two were working with an absconding associate named Giri, also from Bowenpally. The trio, all habitual narcotic users, were allegedly sourcing hash oil from Rajesh, an unidentified supplier in Andhra Pradesh.
“They bought hash oil in bulk from Giri to both sell and consume. While waiting near Gate-II, ICRISAT Phase-2, Krishna Nagar, Old Bowenpally to sell the substance, they were intercepted and arrested,” said Srinivasa Rao.
Authorities recovered the full stash of hash oil and are actively working to trace Giri and Rajesh, who remain at large.
