Two men involved in multiple snatching cases, Sahil and Jagdeep Singh, both residents of Sultanwind, Amritsar, were arrested following a shootout with police on Thursday evening, an official confirmed.

During a routine patrol near Rara bridge in Tanda tehsil, the police signaled the duo, riding a motorcycle with faces covered, to stop. Instead of complying, they tried to escape towards the Dhusi Bandh embankment by the Beas river and opened fire at the police team, firing at least four shots.

In response, police returned fire, injuring Sahil, who was rushed to a local hospital. Both suspects were apprehended after the incident.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Malik stated that Sahil has five registered cases, including robbery, theft, and drug offenses, while Jagdeep is named in one case.

The police continue to investigate the snatching incidents linked to the suspects and are monitoring the situation closely.
