A 27-year-old man, Sachin alias Bihari, has been arrested in Thane, Maharashtra, in connection with the August 29 assault of a man named Govinda in Ghoghdia village, Jind, Haryana. Govinda succumbed to his injuries on September 7, prompting a murder investigation.
Police registered a case against Sachin alias Bihari and others after receiving the complaint.
Intelligence suggested Sachin might be hiding with relatives in the Mira Road area, leading officers to establish surveillance and ground checks.
The breakthrough came when officers traced Sachin to Kashimira, where he was arrested on September 13. He has since been handed over to Haryana police for further action.
